Two parts film of the TRETYAKOV GALLERY.

Gallery’s history is described from the early acquisition of the works of Pavel Tretyakov’s contemporaries and friends, including Repin, Surikov, Shishkin to the talents of next generation, such as Serov and Levitan, whose art was supported by Tretyakov. You can see collection of old Russian and XVIII century Russian art.

With the efforts of Gallery’s board and trustees the collection provided a prominent place to both scholars like Repin and Polenov, and the art of the turn of the century, like that of Vrubel, Korovin or Benois. Grabar and his successors enriched the collection with XX century artists, from Malevich, Kandinsky, Konchalovsky, Saryan to Korin, Plastov and Deineka.
