Optimistic drama that began on the eve of World War I. After graduation from gymnasium in St. Petersburg Varia went teaching to remote village. Soon she met her St. Petersburg acquaintance - bolshevic Martynov. She married him but soon enough he had been arrested. After Revolution Martynov dies being a Commissar and she endures many a hardship fighting kulaks.
