Angela Yoffe

Angela Yoffe was born in Riga, Latvia into a family of highly respected musicians. Her talent was recognized at the age of four when she began her music studies. She graduated from the Darzinia School of Music in Riga where she studied under the guidance of pianist Faina Bulavko. Later, her education continued at the Latvian Academy of Music with Ilze Graubin.

In 1991, when her family moved to Israel, Angela Yoffe was immediately admitted to the Rubin Academy of Music where she studied under Victor Derevianko. In the summer of 1992, she was accepted as a student of Joaquin Achucarro at the Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, where she was awarded the Fannie and Bernard Schaenen Scholarship endowed by the Feldman Foundation.

Angela Yoffe has received top prizes in many competitions, including the Dvarionas International Piano Competition in Lithuania. She also won the Edna Ocker Best Accompanist Award in the Corpus Christi International Competition. She is a Scholarship recipient of the America–Israel Cultural Foundation.

Ms. Yoffe has been lauded for her outstanding musical gifts and has performed as a soloist and a chamber musician in the concert halls of Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Israel, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States. Ms. Yoffe"s performances have been broadcast on radio in Israel, France, Switzerland and the U.S. Her extensive collaboration with violinist Vadim Gluzman brought her to the Verbier International Music Festival, Switzerland, the Festival de Radio France & Montpellier, MIDEM festival in Cannes, Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, and the Schwetzingen Festspiele in Germany.

During the 1996–97 season, she performed Mendelssohn"s Concerto for Violin and Piano with Mr. Gluzman and the Chattanooga Symphony and gave recitals in Paris (Salle Gaveau), Ravinia, St. Louis, Corpus Christi, New York City, San Francisco, Japan (including Tokyo"s Suntory Hall), and Canada (in a tour sponsored by the Israel Consulate). In March, 1995, Angela Yoffe and Vadim Gluzman made their debut recording for KOCH International. Ms. Yoffe has also performed with cellist Wendy Warner, and with musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Currently Ms. Yoffe is a piano assistant in the violin studio of Ms. Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School in New York where she has studied chamber music with Jonathan Feldman. Her future seasons include collaborations with Vadim Gluzman and Wendy Warner at festivals in Divonne (France), Lockenhaus (Austria), Schwetzingen (Germany) among others, Music in the Mountains in Colorado, the Simar Festival in Colombia, South America, as well as other appearances in Germany, Spain, and New York.
