Родился в Москве. Окончил художественный факультет ВГИКа (1950).
В кино — с 1947 года: ассистент художника, затем — художник. С 1954 — художник Киностудии "Ленфильм", с 1955 работает вместе с Бертой Маневич. Дебютировал фильмом "Джамбул" (1953).
Заслуженный художник РСФСР (1976).
